Company History

Founded in 1974, INPUT was an international firm providing market research and consulting on IT software and services markets to leading vendors and users. INPUT grew to become a market leader and maintained offices in U.S., Europe, and Asia. INPUT subscription services (syndicated research) and custom projects covered commercial and government IT software and services markets. INPUT was known for the high-caliber of professional staff and its rigorous research and forecasting methodology. For many years INPUT software and services market forecasts were the industry standard used by governments and industry.

History
INPUT formed in 1974 as Peter A. Cunningham and Associates, dba INPUT and was based in Palo Alto, CA. The company incorporated in 1976 and remained privately held until acquired by Deltek in 2010. From 1975 until 2000, the company focused on market forecasting for an industry that grew from approximately $10 billion worldwide in 1975 to a trillion dollars by 2000.  In 2000, the company focused on providing sales and market support web-based databases to organizations seeking to sell to the U.S. government. When Deltek purchased INPUT in 2010, the company had over 1,500 customers and employed approximately 240 people.  Peter Cunningham retained rights to the INPUT materials developed from 1974 – 2000.
